About Special Education

Finding creative, cost-effective approaches to help students with disabilities is the goal of these special education programs housed at BrightWorks. Programs provide technical assistance and cutting-edge staff development.

Some of the activities supported by these programs include:

  • Network development and staff training
  • Technical assistance to educators and caregivers throughout the state
  • Training in early intervention strategies for children with disabilities
  • Development of promising practices materials
  • Conferences for educators
  • Statewide census of infants, toddlers, children and youth with Deafblindness

Judy Wolff Library

Housed at BrightWorks, the Judy Wolff Library resources are available September through June for Minnesota Educators and Minnesota residents only. Through a partnership with BrightWorks, the Judy Wolff Library provides special education resources to Minnesota districts, schools, teachers, and parents within Minnesota’s Region 11.
